Mark Cavendish was not on anybody’s
radar for a stage win. Just to prove them
wrong, he won four stages and, in doing so,
became the second-winningest rider in Tour
de France history (with 30 wins) after Eddy
Merckx (with 34 wins).
Chris Froome was the best rider
in the Tour, but it was the entire
Sky team that outshone all the
competitors and left no doubt
that they are the strongest team
in the world today.
